News : Web 2.0 in Business Is On The Rise7-5-2007
According to eMarketer.com, more than 50% of large businesses worldwide are using forms of Web 2.0 technology such as blogs, online video and social media applications. eMarketer.com reports that a survey run by US based company Melcrum indicates that an increasing number of businesses are currently using Web 2.0 technology, or have plans to incorporate Web 2.0 functionality in their business activities over the coming year. “Our recent HomeBrew event prompted talk about what Web 2.0 means for business in Australia. Companies are starting to see the enormous potential Web 2.0 holds for both internal and external communications in business,” said Market United’s Managing Director, Marc Loveridge. “Blogging and social media, for example, can be effectively used as tools for internal communications in large organisations to develop employee engagement and cooperation. We’re going to see much more Web 2.0 activity, in forms such as business blogging and the creation of internal staff forums, surface in the near future.” For more information on the survey, see eMarketer.com.
